There’s no doubt I love stripes, so when I heard that today was National Stripes Day (don’t you just love a made-up holiday?), I had to share these pictures with my Buggy Boo that we shot just a few weeks ago. Wouldn’t these frocks make cute Easter dresses or even a fun Mother’s Day gift?

Kaylee and I share a lot in common, one of those things being we are ultra-sensitive when it comes to how our clothes feel. There’s some label for it but I prefer the term “delicate”, but let’s just say we both refuse to wear anything constricting or scratchy. We both gave these Sail to Sable dresses two thumbs up (Kaylee even wore her dress to an audition for Fresh Off the Boat with a blazer — my  blazer funnily enough — to play a private school girl!). She looked super preppy and adorable.

We also like to protect our fair skin but are sensitive to sunscreen and the like, so big hats like this and this and sunglasses are a must.

I’m obsessed with this kate spade new york tassel hat (also available here). It has snaps, which means you can also wear it on your back, which is fun. But I also love that in windy Palm Springs, I can just tie the tassels or hang on to the tassels to keep my beloved hat from flying away.

I love Kaylee’s hat too. You may remember me wearing it a lot last summer (here + here), and it will definitely be in heavy rotation again this season. You can still snag one here.

I also love a good straw tote. The colorful one Kaylee has is from Trina Turk and the round one I’m carrying is from Etsy.

Of course, I love this one of her too. And can’t believe how tiny she once was.

Being around her is like one big endorphin rush and a constant reminder to cherish moments. Not days, or weeks, but simple moments.

Quite frankly, it’s been a tough time again around these parts health-wise personally, and having had her out here, along with my sister and mom, was such a blessing and extraordinarily helpful.

It’s also been an incredibly tough time for so many people I hold near and dear, with close calls of friends and family, and the passing of best friends’ loved ones.

Just another reminder to be grateful for what you have — or more importantly who you have. Tell those you love how much they mean to you, and to embrace wonderful simple moments like these, which I will no doubt treasure forever.
