Hello from Melbourne, loves, and a happy birthday to my one and only, Fred Baby!

Here’s what we’ve been up to…

We finally made it to Melbourne after a memorable road trip from Sydney, just in time to celebrate Fred Baby’s birthday (yesterday was December 13th here in Australia; today it’s the 13th in the States — how fun to get to celebrate your birthday twice!).

We spent the past few days wandering through vineyards, taking in the Australian countryside, spotting hopping kangaroos at twilight (incredible!), talking about the meaning of life and our goals for the coming year, while singing silly songs in crazy accents. Road trips are the best.

Last night we rolled into Melbourne in time for a fun dinner at an amazing Mexican restaurant we stumbled upon (who knew Mexican food in Australia was better than in California and Texas?!) and a stroll through hidden lanes while taking in the Christmas lights (our hotel room overlooks a winter wonderland and the sounds of Christmas carols merrily waft seven stories up).

I’m looking forward to our last weekend of adventures here in Australia before heading home and savoring simple moments with the love of my life, today and always. This past year was our craziest by far (multiple moves, trips to Brazil, Argentina, Singapore, Australia, Mexico, Texas, a new job, going from no home to two — it’s been a whirlwind to say the least). I love you, Fred Baby, and can’t wait to see what this next year holds (plenty of naps would be okay by me) xx!
