Are you ready for the first full weekend of 2012? I know I am. This has been a really fun week (Richard Simmons nicknamed me “Sparrow,” I got to see baby Ruby, and Luca Ellis serenaded us with Moon River), but there’s also an unsettled energy in the air. You know the kind where you feel exhausted but totally antsy at the same time? I’m hoping the weekend will bring a little calm and focus — and some fun, too! Speaking of fun, I wanted to share some snapshots from our first Christmas in LA with you…
We spent Christmas Day at the Santa Monica Pier, and if you’re looking for something fun to do in LA this weekend, roller coasters, tandem bike riding and walking barefoot in the sand is hard to beat. Especially with these summery temperatures we’ve been having lately.
We weren’t expecting the Pier to be open and we’re just off for a walk on the beach, so it was a great surprise!
The bike rental shops were open too, so we snagged some tandem bikes (one of my very favorite things to do!).
We walked barefoot in the sand and dipped our toes in the ocean (brrr!)…
When not at the beach, we had fun opening presents, baking, cooking, eating cheese and way too many sweets and enjoying meals on our terrace. It was 75 degrees and sunny – not the traditional idea of Christmas but so much fun all the same.
Thank you for letting me share it here with you and I wish you a weekend full of unexpected delights!
