You’re Invited: Prom Around the World!

_{WHAT IS PROM AROUND THE WORLD?}

_{You may have caught on my Instagram Stories the other night that the idea of hosting a virtual prom came to me at 1am while watching an episode of Jimmy Fallon at Home. (Side bar: His shows from his home are the cutest – his little daughter Winnie cracks me up!).}

_{He was singing a funny song, Prom with Your Mom, since so many teens might be missing out on prom this year. And, it got me to thinking how it could be fun to host a virtual adult prom on Instagram. Just something fun and silly we can all do – dress up in our prom best (or worst!) — for a fun few hours at home. The goal: to lift our spirits!}

_{PROM AROUND THE WORLD}

_{Date: Saturday, April 4th} 

_{Time: 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST}

_{What: Dress up in a fancy frock – whether it’s a terrible old bridesmaid dress or a beautiful gown you’ve been dying to wear (or a tux).}

_{Why: This is all about lifting spirits, having fun + feeling part of a community – socializing while social distancing, if you will.}

_{Where: Your House, My House. I’ll be going live on Instagram @kellygolightly (I’ve never gone live before, so this should be interesting!). But the plan is to invite in prom guests throughout the night + just have a good time!}

 _{How: To participate, simply dress up + post a pic or video of yourself celebrating prom with the hashtag #promaroundtheworld. Tell me where you live too! We’ll all be able to see one another in a fun party around the world! And I’ll repost to my Stories!}

_{THEN JOIN US FOR THE PROM AROUND THE WORLD AFTER PARTY}

_{Time: 6:30pm PST/9:30pm EST}

Participants can use phone or laptop – but must have video on so we can check student ID’s ( and avoid spammers )

 _{Prom committee, anyone?}

_{I’m happy to tackle decorations and Fred Baby said he’s happy to be on punch patrol.}

_{But I fully encourage you to decorate if you want to, come up with your own drink recipes, etc. and share with the hashtag #promaroundtheworld.}

_{Or, even form your own mini committees. This should be 100% NOT stressful and 100% fun – feel free to make it your own!}

_{Anyone want to volunteer to make a Prom Playlist?}

Music gurus out there? Would love help with a prom playlist!
