Unexpected Moments

This week was a strange one to say the least, where the days felt long, but the week flew by in a flash. Late nights (of work), early mornings (of work), an out-of-town Fred Baby (the longest we’ve been apart in years), construction workers in our place all week hammering away (as they put in a new shower)…it was nice to have some unexpected moments of pure delight.

Like the sunset a few nights ago. We’re lucky in LA to often have pretty incredible sunsets (it’s the silver lining of dirty air), but this one was a showstopper. I watched as the sky turned from blue, black and white to a fiery pink, purple and gold .

Another highlight? A visit to Slimmons. Richard Simmons kissing you and calling you his little Audrey Hepburn makes for a really fun Tuesday (he even tweeted me the next day, which obviously made my life!). He told me a great story too… He once met Audrey Hepburn in the elevator of The Regency Hotel. He said he couldn’t stop crying and was on his knees. Audrey said to him, “Richard, daaahling, you simply must get up.” (Can you imagine?)

Another moment I’m so grateful for? Nearly 4000 Instagram followers! I’m so thankful to all of you who follow along on my adventures. Your comments always make my day and I love seeing what you’re up to, too! It feels like we’re all in this together, cherishing the best little slices of life. This weekend I’m looking forward to the Aqualillies, bottomless mimosas with friends, lazy mornings in bed, taking a shower (!), painting my nails, and seeing what unexpected delights unfold. Wishing you a sweet summer weekend full of unexpected moments xx.
