We may not get to have guests for a while, but that hasn’t stopped me from fiddling around and constantly redecorating. Plus, Fred Baby and I actually change up where we sleep. Sometimes it’s the master bedroom, and sometimes it’s the millennial pink guest room, a.k.a The Sarah Sherman Samuel Suite (since she designed it!). I fully realize how cuckoo that may sound, but how else are you supposed to feel like you’re getting away to a hotel during quarantine? If you have an extra room, try it! Anyway, today I’m sharing the latest addition to the guest room – these black-and-white scalloped Faith lamps from Mitzi (by Hudson Valley Lighting). Take a peek…

Black & White Scalloped Lamps

As soon as I spotted these groovy little lamps I wanted them. Here’s why…

Why I love these black & white scalloped lamps:

1. I j’adore the combo of black and white. It always reminds of the The Carlyle Hotel in New York, such a classic. Ah, New York…

2. I LOVE scalloped edges. Whether it’s on a dress (like this scalloped frock) or in decor (like this scalloped lamp), scallops always seem so charming, wouldn’t you agree?

3. I’ve really been intrigued by Memphis Design lately. While I won’t be able to nab an iconic wavy mirror like the Ultrafragola mirror designed by Ettore Sottsass any time soon, these lamps seemed like a fun way to tip-toe into the trend — and way more affordable!

Sidenote: Fun how that the black and white of these lamps that’s popular in Memphis Design plays well with the wavy, sinuous pink wallpaper that reminds me of the Ultrafragola wavy neon pink mirror, right?

So there you have it, a peek into our guest room spruce-up, why I love these scalloped Faith lamps, and a peek into how my mind works.
