Scenes from Halloween

As promised, some snapshots from Halloween! Can you guess who I was?

Here’s a clue…

Yes, I was my obsession: Richard Simmons! Funnily enough, I just needed the wig, and some sweatbands and athletic socks from American Apparel. I was already the proud owner (and designer) of the Lick Me top and Candy A** shorts, which, let’s face it, are so Richard Simmons, it’s official – we’re soul mates. (p.s. If you want your own pair of Buss-A-Roos, hit me up!).

My mother-in-law furnished the tights, my parents the Coach sneakers, and as if you couldn’t tell from the gun show, I’ve had those weights for many, many years. And have used them, well, now once. (p.s. Is it just me, or, with my mustache straw, do I totally look like Borat? Must keep that in mind for future Halloweens…)

This was my date for the night. I know, we make such a handsome pair, it’s just not fair to all the others. Who is that, you wonder? Why that’s my darling husband as his hero, Mike Holmes of HGTV’s Holmes on Homes. After spray painting his newly cropped hair blond and sporting hoop earrings in both ears, the resemblance was spookily uncanny. We couldn’t keep our hands off of each other all night (does sarcasm transmit through the Internet?).

While we had nary a trick-or-treater, we did have a blast hosting a very last-minute Procrastinators Halloween Get-together. I’ve spared the innocent by not posting their pictures, but thanks to Pandora’s Halloween playlist, Tomato Pie, some frightfully good Monster Mules (re: Moscow Mules), and this honey badger video, we had the most fun time.
