Happy Friday! I just got back from New York Fashion Week where I spent the last week running from show to show, meeting to meeting, party to party — mostly in this same pair of shoes.Â
Fashion Week is always such a whirlwind and while I am so grateful to be a part of it, I’m even more grateful to be home sweet home in Palm Springs, makeup-free and in my pajamas at 6pm watching the sun dip below the mountains while Friends plays in the background. #simplepleasures
That said, Fashion Week is kind of like a wedding. You spend all of this time planning for it, then when it happens, it’s a total whirlwind where you run around like a chicken with your head cut off, half loving it, half waiting for it to be over because you are exhausted and starving, and then when it finally is over, you kind of sink into a mini-case of the blues.
Speaking of the blues, here is one of my favorite looks from Fashion Week. I wore this neoprene Jarret dress from Porte Mode to the Harper’s Bazaar party, where I found myself among fashion It-girls Mira Duma, Laura Brown and Emily Ratajkowski .
When I think of Harper’s Bazaar I think of the Avedon years, with bold colors and graphic shapes, so this dress with its exaggerated A-line felt spot-on. It was also convenient in the rain, since it’s made of neoprene.
I also loved the colorblocking of this bag by Hare +Hart. As for shoes, I normally kill my feet on Day One of Fashion Week, so I promised myself I wouldn’t do that this year. And even though I planned on breaking in these stacked heels ahead of time, that never quite happened. Best laid plans…
Luckily, these heels were comfy from Day One so I wore them pretty much the entire week, including to this party. They’re on major sale right now and go with practically everything. I highly recommend scooping them up, if you’re in the market.
I’ll be sharing more from New York next week. Until then, have a blissfully barefoot weekend!
