Who doesn’t love a striped shirt? So easy, so effortless, yet classic and pulled together. Obviously a striped shirt looks great with a pair of jeans, but did you know it also pairs surprisingly well with a printed skirt?

Typically I’d reach for a solid white or black shirt when wearing a patterned skirt, but a happy accident brought this unexpected combo together and I like it. What do you think: Would you wear a striped shirt with a patterned skirt?

Speaking of, this skirt is by independent New York designer she and reverie. I love that it features Polaroids of places traveled (or are they Instagrams? ;). Makes me feel like strolling the French Riviera. I’m also a sucker for a skirt with pockets and anything I can twirl in. The top is by Uniqlo, who is like the GAP of Japan and just opened up shop in LA, but it seems it already sold out online. But I’ve linked to more favorite striped shirts below.
