Overalls are back. I know, I know. But fear not. You don’t have to look like a giant six-year-old to wear them (though, really, what’s wrong with that?). But, you can channel your inner tomboy for a look that’s a little nostalgic, a little downtown (hello, Alexa Chung) and a whole lot playful (not to mention comfy to the max).

Here’s how I wore overalls for a romp around Palm Springs on Memorial Day…

As with most things in life, overalls tend to look best on the long and the lean. But, if like me, you’re not Giselle-feet-tall, cheat the system with some sky-high wedges (although, take this advice to heart: don’t wear said wedges in a wind storm). A sleek sandal or pump also pairs well with overalls for a look that’s more tomboy-chic than playground-sweet.

What do you think? Would you try overalls? Or not so much? I’ve been itching to ty them since Joy and Anne went proverall. Though to be honest, I was jazzed about the overalls trend for the mere comfort factor alone (nothing tight on the waist means more milkshakes, if you ask me!).

What I’m Wearing:

Citizens of Humanity ‘Quincey’ Overalls c/o (so soft, and perfectly cut)

Broadway & Broome lace top (another hand-me-down from Helen -!!!- but similar here)

Wedges c/o Shoe Dazzle

Bag c/o Just Fab

Memphis Turquoise Crystal sunglasses c/o TOMS

Hat c/o Kristen Turner
