How To Style a Sequin Skirt for Day

Have a sequin skirt and wondering how to style it for day? Here’s how to wear a sequin skirt during the daytime, plus the best sequin skirts! I’ve been on a sequin kick lately, as evidenced here and here. So when I saw Joy in this skirt, I knew I needed to add it to my collection! #PSILOVESPARKLE It got me thinking, it’s pretty clear how to wear sequins at night (toss on some heels), but how about styling sequins for daytime? Read on to see how to style a sequin skirt for day!

First things first, I knew I wanted to wear tennis shoes/sneakers/kicks — what are the kids calling them these days? 😉 — to make the look more casual for day. This pair was perfect because they have a touch of metallic too.

As with most skirts I wear, I added a graphic tee. I definitely have a thing for tshirts with words. But a tee tones down the fancy factor too. #tshirtsandsequinskirts

I snagged this Good Vibes tee from the Nordstrom Sale, but it’s still available here.

While that’s how I would wear this look NOW when it’s 100 bajillion degrees, once it cools down, I’d add this faux fur coat. (That’s right, I sacrificed for this blog post and wore this faux fur jacket in 115-degree weather like a fool — luckily it was a quick shoot or I’d no longer be with us).

I ended up keeping this colorful coat in the size Small because I wanted a slightly oversized fit.

Speaking of sizing, this skirt runs on the small side, so if you’re between sizes or on the fence, 100% size up. I’m wearing a Small and it just barely zips.

Other than my trusty heart sunnies, that’s it!
