Summer may be officially coming to a close but I can eat ice cream any season. You too? Glam up the traditional ice cream sundae the Italian way with affogato, which combines ice cream with espresso. It’s SO easy even I can do it – and I’ve never made a cup of coffee in my life. Really.

Of course this pretty De’Longhi Icona espresso maker that I had on loan didn’t hurt, but you can make this sweet but elegant treat with regular coffee as well. So, gather your friends and favorite ice cream flavors and host the grown-up version of an ice cream social — an affogato social!
