Every year or two it seems a new animal comes into fashion. First it was owls, then it was foxes, then flamingos, then hedgehogs. This season, it’s horses. Yes, horses are the new black. Despite the fact that I was nearly killed on a horse last year in Brazil, I couldn’t be more thrilled. Here’s why…

One, several years ago I carried a horse tote that I loved into the ground. It was a sad day when the bag was too dirty and beaten up to carry any longer and I couldn’t find a replacement. And two, one of my absolute favorite boutiques in New York is Castor & Pollux in the West Village, who now makes a bag with their horse logo (seen above)! I’m so excited to have found a replacement, as well as these fellow horse-bedecked accessories.
