Sweet peas, I wanted to share my photos with you from Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles! (Did you end up going? I’d love to hear all about it!) It was such a fun girls night out full of swoon-worthy shopping, sweets and sips. I nabbed some photos of great street-style (and the rich and famous!) that I thought you might like to see…
We started the evening at Trina Turk, who was hosting a special event with some of Trina’s favorite vintage vendors. I’m so glad we hit up Trina Turk first because we actually got to meet Trina herself! (Which has been a long time coming if you remember this and this.) She is super sweet and stylish and her LA store is gah-gah-gorgeous (not a surprise, as it was designed by Kelly Wearstler).
Speaking of super sweet and stylish, how great do my angels look (sorry, all of these previews for Charlie’s Angels have gotten to me)! I love how everyone inadvertently coordinated, wearing bright orange, floral prints, and belts …
What I Wore: Zara skirt; Vintage top from Revivals in Palm Springs; Forever 21 bag
Well, everyone except for me who spent the evening doing the polka in head-to-toe dots!
Here is my gorgeous friend Chrystina Woody, a fab lifestyle publicist, in a great floral dress and amazeballs accessories. I about died when I saw her stunning necklace (not to mention her Chanel bag and Dolce Vita sandals).
Here she is trying on an equally sparkly alligator brooch from one of the vintage vendors.
And here she is testing out a fab vintage jacket. Yowzas.
I boosted the economy (you’re welcome, world) by taking this vintage Judith Hendler bracelet home (I’m so predictable…show me something black-and-white and I’ll show you something that’s now mine.).
Each guest at Trina Turk was greeted with champagne, a smile and, more importantly, stellar lighting. It amazes me how often stores don’t get lighting right. The Trina Turk store (and Kelly Wearstler) got everything right…
Including these glamorous pink chairs. Doub-lay die! I want to live in this store.
Here my friend Rebecca Buenik, stylist and blogger behind Bee of Design (doesn’t she look like a beautiful indie Barbie?), poses with my radiant friend Jenny Heller Giagni, also a fab fashion, beauty and lifestyle publicist. Jenny’s bright orange bag killed me. No, really. See…
I wasn’t exaggerating. Have you seen these bags by The Cambridge Satchel Company? I’ve never been an “it” bag kinda girl, but this baby is my number one fall wishlist item, and after some internet perusing, I see I’m not alone (apparently it’s the bag to have in the fashion and fashion blogger world…who knew?). A full post on these bags is coming next week… (Check out Jenny’s sweet Mr. Kate Cheerio ring too!)
I also wanted to tackle Rebecca and steal her awesome vintage bag…but then I realized I could just ask her if I could borrow it instead. Violence is not the answer, friends.
Next, we hopped on over to Satine, who was hosting an event with Lyst and Cobra Society. This shopgirl’s outfit (and cute ‘do) totally charmed me. You too?
Then, we all literally gasped (in a good way) when we spotted this girl who managed to make a garter belt and bandage dress look cool and edgy instead of…um, illegal. Perhaps it was her Cobra Society boots? Not surprising, she was a model.
My fashion blogger comrade Rachael LaRoche of Ordinarily Urbane, who is also a fashion publicist at Bollare, helped throw the Lyst event at Satine. I loved her ombre hair and bright, bold lip color. Not to mention her cute ankle boots and dress. (I tried to snatch this black-and-white pup too, but he wouldn’t fit in my bag).
I was also smitten with these hot pink shiny pants from Satine. Brightly colored pants are such a big trend right now and one that I’m so excited to try out. Will you be indulging? (You can see more Fashion’s Night Out photos at Satine on their blog – including a few of me in my polka dots!).
Next, we moseyed on over to Ron Herman at Fred Segal for the Goldsign Jeans event. We couldn’t help but coo over this cutie, who I believe was in equal admiration of everyone’s fun nail polish colors (or was that just me?).
We spotted my beautiful friend Marina Keiler, director of marketing and PR for Goldsign Jeans, with the jeanius “godfather of denim” Adriano Goldschmied of Adriano Goldschmied, Citizens of Humanity, Diesel, and now Goldsign. What a treat to meet the denim guru himself (he was so nice and down to earth!).
The Goldsign Jeans event featured free tarot card readings, but I was too chicken to do it. (Have you ever had a reading?) I’m not too chicken to nab those black Goldsign bellbottoms off of the mannequin though!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get better than meeting Trina Turk and Adriano Goldschmied, we spotted this guy in a shiny blue unitard. LA street style is always full of surprises.
Speaking of surprises, we about peed our pantalones when we spotted model/mom/mogul Kimora Lee Simmons. (Check out her arm party!)
This picture doesn’t capture it at all, but Kimora was 100 times prettier, thinner and glowier (yes, I made that up) in person. Like a real-life Pocahontas.
Seriously, she was so amazon woman-esque (as you can see, we weren’t the only ones who were psyched to see her). Even though I wanted to ask her to bake cupcakes with me (or do wheat grass shots?) and to find out once and all if we’re cousins (hey, we’re both Lees!), I resisted having my picture taken with her out of vanity (note to self: bring heels just in case you run into a supermodel!).
After all the excitement, we headed to Lola’s to rest our weary soles…
And to sip martinis and nibble on fries with fashion and beauty blogger pals Kristen Turner of Glitter n Glue and Jamie Stone of Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis.
Then, our driver took us home (kidding!). It was SO much fun and I can’t wait for next year’s Fashion’s Night Out. Do you wish FNO was more than once a year, too? Anna Wintour, can you pretty please do something about that? Thanks, kisses dahling xx!
