Do you know what looks good on you?
I thought I did. But this dress has me thinking otherwise.
Now don’t get me wrong, I picked this dress out (the brand kindly sent a lookbook and let me choose from their collection).
But the colors aren’t my typical palette, and when I put it on I thought it washed me out.
I assumed Fred Baby would agree, but he ended up loving it. He said it actually made me look TAN — the complete opposite view I had of thinking it washed me out.
I wore it to an appointment, and an older gentleman went out of his way to come over to tell me that I looked “absolutely fabulous.” That kindness made my day — and was unexpected at a doctor’s appointment.
Even though I love the cut and flowy-ness of this dress — it’s SO comfy — I just thought it seemed a bit more boho than my normal look and that the colors are much softer than the poppy hues I normally gravitate towards.
But it got me to thinking…
Do I know what looks good on me?
Do you?
I wore it again on Sunday and my best friend said “Wow, you look darling.”
I think I’m most surprised at how much joy this dress seems to bring to others — I see the sparkle in their eyes — and how I could be so wrong. Haha.
Anyway, I thought it was a fun question to ponder:
Do YOU know what looks good on you?
Would love to hear in the comments!

I wanted to share with you a wonderful nutrition program that is gluten free, vegan, nontoxic due to your health problems. So finally I’m acting on my promise . It has helped a lot of people feel good and I know you seem to be on a feeling good track now but it’s always good to find out about other possibilities.

It does look good on you! I live the brights you wear. (Or poppy as you call them). I wear black most of the time. When I wear some red or turquoise people always comment on how nice I look and how it brightens my look up. I generally come back with ‘ it’s just bcz I’m not wearing all black’. I have olive skin and black hair, so black is good on me. But some days, like today, I go crazy. Flounced satin camel tiered skirt, lace over dark blue top, very boho long sweater and two scarves. All neutral. I don’t look good in neutrals but that’s the look I wanted today. I am curvy so need to be careful what I wear or I look far bigger than my small frame. I’d love to know what looks best on me. I think your dress is a great fit for you, and the accessories are definitely ‘you’ so it all still works even if the colours and cut are different than what you normally wear. What do you feel best in is the real answer you want. I know I’d love to know what I look best in!! Thank you for bringing this up. It’s important.
