We’ve talked chic sweatshirts and baseballs caps, now let’s shift from sporty-chic to boho-chic by talking about another favorite fall trend: kimonos.

The kimono trend appeals to my inner Mrs. Roper and while it’s perfectly en pointe for Palm Springs and a cocktail with Jack Tripper, kimonos also are for city girls too. Just ask Nicole Richie. And Devon. Where sweatshirts are the new sweaters, kimonos are the new cardigans (well, aside from cocoon cardigans, which are actually the new cardigans, but you know what I mean…or maybe you don’t but let’s pretend, okay?).

Kimonos are the perfect transitional piece from summer to fall, too, so it’s a piece you can wear now and later. Those are the kinds of trends I can get behind. And, as seen on the current New York Fashion Week runways, which are serving up Spring 2014 looks, they’re here to stay for a while.
I’ll be showing you how to wear kimonos soon, as well as my other favorite fall trends, but in the meantime here are a few of my favorite kimonos.

What do you think? Are you on board for kimonos? I’m jazzed that this is another comfy trend. I mean, it’s basically like wrapping up in a blanket, um, or a Snuggie, but far more fashionable. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (because goodness knows I want it to be true and don’t we ladies deserve it by now): comfy is the new black.
