I’m excited to share that next week, Fred Baby and I are off on an island-hopping adventure through the Caribbean with my friends at Celebrity Cruises. After what has been a whirlwind start to 2015, here is what I’m most excited about…
I’m most excited about not having to plan anything.
Well, that and sipping lots of coconuts and pina coladas!
It’s been a crazy start to 2015 – good crazy for the most part – but we are both in desperate need of some serious downtime. Normally when we travel there’s so much time spent on planning where we’ll stay each night, because we love to keep on the move and see as much as possible. But let me tell you, while getting to see a lot of places is great, the downside is that it can get really stressful and exhausting figuring out where we’re going to sleep each night. So in the end, we come home and feel like we need a vacation. So I am looking forward to the idea of exploring one destination one day, and then falling asleep at night and waking up in an entirely new place the next. And feeling refreshed and revived when we get back.
Have you ever been on a cruise? Have any tips for me?
I’ve only been once, when friends got married aboard a cruise ship, but we pretty much went from departure port in Vancouver to destination port in Long Beach with just a quick pickup in Seattle, so didn’t really get the full cruise experience. So I’m excited to see what sailing is like when you do. Plus, the ship looks pretty insane and is built with couples like us in mind. (Is it weird that I’m most looking forward to the playing bocce ball and having a wine-and-cheese picnic at sea on the rooftop lawn?).
I look forward to sharing trip highlights here and on Instagram, but in the meantime if you have any cruise tips, I’m all ears! Packing tips and ideas on what to do in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, and Labadee would be especially helpful.

Kelly I love your blog. We also live in LA and PS. Went on a Celebrity cruise in October. Single worst travel experience of my life. Cancel now if you can. Terrible food. Terrible drinks. Terrible all around.
Oh no, so sorry to hear that. Where did you cruise to?
And so happy you love my blog — thank you XX!
