Today I’m sharing my look from Day One of New York Fashion Week, and the one that landed me on Fashionista’s list for Best Street Style at New York Fashion Week, among style superstars Eva Chen, Aimee Song and Tavi Gevinson. Plus, I’m sharing more black and white fashion favorites so that you can get the look!

BEST STREET STYLE AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
Thank you Angela Datre and Fashionista for including me on your Best Dressed List!
Street style is my absolute favorite part of Fashion Week. While it’s fun to see what comes down the runway, the real magic is in seeing how people translate those trends on the street in real life. Well, Fashion Week isn’t exactly real life, but you know what I mean.
Due to some travel hiccups, I missed my first round of shows on Day One (BCBG, Leanne Marshall, Tadashi Shoji — drats!), but made it just in time for Desigual.
Desigual is always super fun, because the colors are bright and the models smile.
I had the honor of being dressed by Desigual for their show and got to go backstage, where I met style icon Iris Apfel (more on that in another post because it clearly warrants its own!).
While I love color, I also love black-and-white, so this Desigual fit-and-flare skirt instantly called my name with its graphic black-and-white print. Also shouting my name from the racks of my favorite vintage store in the world? This sequin bow-adorned top. I think I received more compliments on it than anything else I wore all week.
Continuing the black-and-white trend, I added my new favorite shoes that I wore every day I was in New York. Finally, these iconic Karen Walker sunglasses and a colorblock bag added a small pop of color and I was set for Day One fun.
What I’m Wearing:
Top: Vintage (similar top here) | Shoes: Max Mara
Skirt: Desigual c/o | Bag: Hare + Hart c/o
