I love a recipe that is super easy, quick and delicious. And bonus points when I already have all the ingredients at home. Such was the case with this Pizza Bianca recipe I spotted in Sweet Paul magazine recently. Similar to focaccia, Pizza Bianca (or “white pizza”) has no tomato sauce. And it is divine. And the active time only takes 10 minutes!
I’ve been making it with rosemary and sea salt, as the recipe suggests. But, I also love adding feta on top for an even more scrumptious combination. You could add any toppings you wanted (I’m looking forward to trying it with Kalamata olives or thinly sliced roasted potatoes on top!).
Alone, Pizza Bianca makes a great appetizer or snack, but is even better when served with a side of olive oil and freshly cracked pepper and sea salt. Or, you can pair it with a salad for a full lunch or dinner (it makes the perfect picnic companion!). Pizza Bianca also makes a lovely hostess gift for the holiday season. Bring a nice bottle of olive oil or wine along too, if you’d like, and you’re sure to be invited back.
p.s. The recipe calls for 5 cups of flour, but I prefer 4 1/2 cups for a moister dough. It will seem unusually sticky, but it turns out wonderfully.
p.p.s. Piggy cutting board c/o of The Spoon Sisters is no longer available there, but you can find it here. This turkey cutting board is perfect for Thanksgiving.
