Dolls and dears,
How’s your week? Mine’s been like a box of chocolates. Chocolates being both fun and then completely exhausting (at least when you eat the entire box like I do). Last week. Moving boxes:1; Kelly: 0. This week. Boxes: 0; Kelly: 5 gillion. I might exaggerate, but to say we spent that past week kicking boxes to the curb is no understatement. The Salvation Army arrived bright and early yesterday morning to scoop away 10 more boxes of who knows what and I have about 10 more full of clothing that will be making their way around the vintage shop circuit in LA come next week. Why I have boxer shorts from the 8th grade is still a mystery. An even bigger one: Why was I wearing boxer shorts in public in the 8th grade? How many times have I used the word boxes and boxers in this paragraph? Apologies to Mr. Sierra, my high school English teacher. B-b-b-boxes, boxers, boxes!
I digress. With a deadline of family arriving today (today!), we had to get ‘er done, so to speak. And while painting and real decorating will come soon enough (oh will it!), I can proudly say there are no more unopened boxes laying around for us or our guests to trip over. Note to self: Come up with new party trick.
In the midst of moving, I am working on a new project that I could not be more thrilled about. Can you guess what it is? Don’t you just hate guessing games? What’s the square root of ABC? Can we focus? I’m doing the interior design for a gorgeous home in San Francisco. I may or may not be secretly blogging about that elsewhere already and may or may not be sharing that secret blog with you soon.
In addition to eating boxes of chocolate, then promptly regretting it, getting rid of half of what we own, decorating our home and another, and writing thrilling posts such as this, I’m also loving life here in the 90211. And I’m really looking forward to getting out of the house in the next few days and enjoying all that this city of angels and dreamers has to offer. I see hiking in Santa Monica and playing in Malibu in my future as well as wining and cheesing at the Hollywood Bowl as Harry Connick, Jr. stares into my tired eyes and sings to me and me alone.
Like I said, this is a city of dreamers.
Wishing you sweet dreams this weekend xx,
k
