When I get something new that I love I tend to wear it over and over and over again. For instance, I scooped up this Erin Fetherston pleated chiffon babydoll dress last week (when finally biting the bullet and getting this party dress) and it’s been in heavy rotation ever since.
Here’s why I love it and where & how I wore it…
What I’d Wear Every Day If I Could
I’m a fan of any dress I can twirl in and love how comfy and floaty this one is. In fact, babydoll dresses are my absolute favorite thing in the world to wear (in public anyway). I used to wear them all the time when we lived in New York and I am bringing them back…mostly for selfish reasons. You know how I love my Bouchon kougin-amann and mac n cheese from Lemonade? Well, a babydoll dress is the ultimate piece of clothing to wear when you want to get your chow on. In fact you need to get this dress (or one like it) for Thanksgiving. You can thank me later. (The twirly bird gets the worm!) You can also thank me for the compliments you’re about to get, as this dress garners major props from both the ladies and the fellas stopping you on the street to tell you they like it.
Last week, I wore this dress to meetings with StyleCaster at The Huntley (where I almost had a panic attack in the exterior elevator), then to meet Rachel Ashwell. This week I’ve already worn it to meetings with Who What Wear/Domaine at Fig & Olive and then again yesterday for a photo shoot and interview with WHIL (which I’ll be sure to share soon). I mean, that’s a lot for a dress I’ve had for barely two weeks. And I fully intend to wear it to my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary dinner in Palm Springs on Monday, too!
I’ve been dressing it down for daytime with suede booties (love these from JustFab — they’ve also been in heavy rotation and are a steal), but look forward to adding heels, maybe some tights, and a faux fur vest for nighttime dates this winter.
What’s your favorite thing to wear?
