Darlings, I’m excited to share photos with you from Friday night’s red carpet Oscar party at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills, hosted by QVC. As you know (because you so sweetly helped style me for the party), I had planned out my look for the fancy schmancy shindig. However, LA’s angry skies had other plans, as the biggest rainstorm I’ve ever witnessed in LA decided that Friday would be a perfect time to unleash its fury (Burbank even had SNOW the following night – crazy!). Luckily, the LisaMichelle Collection coat dress still worked perfectly for the occasion and helped to keep me warm in the wet and wild jungle of LA celebrity.
Instead of wearing the coat as a dress, I threw on this Notte by Marchesa dress underneath, as well as some much-needed tights and less precarious heels (thank goodness because stilettos don’t get along so famously with swampy gardens!). A black patent leather Kate Spade clutch sealed the deal. Oh, and yes, that is a new hair ‘do, thanks so much for noticing. Corey at Nelson J Salon in Beverly Hills did the ‘do and I loved her and will be back (she listened, did exactly what I wanted and was a total sweetheart, plus the salon was hidden away and so laidback and peaceful). I was also so lucky to get my makeup done at the QVC pampering suite at the Four Seasons beforehand by the ladies of Tarte Cosmetics. Who sat down right next to me to have her makeup touched up? The adorable Sara Rue (who has the most gorgeous hair and skin, btdubs) and was beyond sweet.
The party was a glamorous crush of people, including Jessica Simpson’s right-hand man Ken Paves, who was demoing his hair extensions (see the piece on top of his cabeza!).
We also spotted Donald Trump and his famous mane, wife Melania Trump, Colin Firth (who I may or may not have shamelessly tried to chase down shouting Mr. Darcy, Mr. Darcy!), Camila Alves and my favorite, Joan Rivers.
Ross Matthews (who I LOVE!) and Salvador of Fashion Salvation were also there, along with Sara Rue and Heather McDonald of Chelsea Lately.
Jeannie Mai from How Do I Look? also hit the red carpet, as did HGTV host Clive Pearse.
I even spotted a Real Housewife, and chatted with new Desperate Housewife Emily Bergl. Whew. It was a fun night!
Of course, the best part of the night was spending it with my husband…
And running into people I actually know, like my amazing Inside Weddings editor Marilyn Oliveira.
Isn’t she gorgeous?
We also caught up with the supremely talented Dedicated Follower of Fashion blogger Kelsi Smith (right) of Two Point Oh! LA and La Lovetta blogger Eileen Lee (next to half of moi), and met the super stylish Sandra of Creatures of Comfort and Mr. Cuit (half of him anyway!).
We sipped champagne, nibbled red velvet cupcakes, and counted our blessings (or was that just me?).
It was an affair to remember.
Thank you for coming along for the ride!
Sending champagne wishes and caviar dreams your way xx!
Kelly
