I can’t believe I’ve never shared any house tour photos from our first Palm Springs home, Casa Golightly. That changes today! Let’s kick things off with a peek at our living room, shall we?
I’m getting a little nostalgic looking back at these. We loved this home so much for the four years we were there.
There was a lot about the simplicity of this house that I loved, including the wall of glass doors letting in all of that natural light.
We kept things pretty simple with a white sectional that we’ve had this since we lived in San Francisco (and it now resides in our living room in Villa Golightly).
It was from Room and Board but is no longer available, but I tracked down a lookalike here.
We also still have this cocktail table too, which now resides in the lounge at the new place.
It’s a good lesson in that if you buy what you love, you can have it for many years, in many different homes.
You better believe I still have this vintage Milo Baughman style bar cart too — as well as everything on it!
I love mixing in vintage with new to create a more interesting space.
And I can never resist a gold/brass bar cart, as seen by the fact that there’s a second one in the corner of the room.
Hello, my pretty. Here’s an equally gorgeous similar round gold bar cart.
While these photos were taken after we had staged the house for sale, the living room is exactly as it had been.
A few favorite pieces of art by Fred Baby (more here) added the perfect pop of color…
As did palm leaf print pillows and poppy hues.
The back wall here had already been painted this shade of blue when we bought the house.
The entire time we lived there we debated on whether we wanted to change it or not. I could have seen doing wallpaper or even just all white, but we also liked it as it was at least half the time, so the blue accent walls stayed (there’s also one in the dining room, which is just on the other side of this bar cart, and in the bedroom too).
Gah! That bar cart. She’s so pretty. She’s currently in our Glamily Room but I’m feeling like she needs to be moved to a more prominent spot, as she deserves to be in the spotlight, don’t you think?
The only piece we no longer have is the yellow rug (similar one here), and that was only because we used it when I curated a gallery wall at Modernism Week and 60,000 people walked all over it rendering it…quite dirty.
Funnily enough, the photo on the wall is of our backyard at this house. That was a fun shoot!
What do you think? My mom always says how different this house was from the one we are in now, since Casa Golightly had mostly white walls, whereas Villa Golightly has lots of wallpaper and color.
I see what she means, but they both have the same color palette — and a lot of the same pieces!
I’ll link to how to get the look below + stay tuned as I share tours of the dining room, backyard, master bedroom and my office!
Any questions, ask away in the comments! As always, thank you for reading xo.
