We rarely shoot nighttime outfit photos (mostly because it’s much harder to take good pictures at night) and I rarely wear my hair down (mostly because it drives me bonkers). And I rarely venture to Hollywood. Especially at night (mostly because I’m usually in my pajamas by 9pm). But I went wild and did all three on Saturday night for my friend Jamie’s 30th birthday party at Aventine.
Here are a few snaps of what I wore to the black-and-white party.
While I’ve been on a huge color kick (and polka dot kick) as of late, black-and-white is one of my all-time favorite combos. So it was fun to have a reason to go classic. (Please pardon my Kristen Stewart scowl.) I chose a romantic, ruffly dress and paired it with a fitted lace jacket with a bow detail for a sweet touch. Black tights kept me warm on a cool LA night and these heels were surprisingly comfy for cupcake-imbibing and celebrating with good friends.
Speaking of cupcakes, how fun is this cupcake tower with the lady of honor’s beautiful face on the cupcakes? Jamie’s got the cheekiest sense of humor — just one reason why I love her.
I love a themed party and dress code and here’s proof that black-and-white is the chicest way to go (dying over Jamie’s dress and Sydne’s skirt).
I found a cocktail named the Rosemary Clooney irresistible. Sadly, no George in sight.
Although the dress code was black-and-white, I couldn’t resist a little color for my ensemble, however, hence the bright lips and blue nails. It’s a party, after all.
What color(s) do you wear the most?
What I’m Wearing:
Notte by Marchesa dress
H&M jacket
Nine West shoes
Victoria’s Secret tights
Rossmore LA earrings
Kate Spade clutch
