How to Style a Houndstooth Blazer

I recently wrote about how to style these pink velvet jeans for fall, and today I’m sharing another styling idea in today’s post about how to style a houndstooth blazer. Does anything say autumn more than houndstooth? And is there anything more fun to wear when the temperatures cool down than coats and blazers? I can’t wait for it to get cooler out, so I can actually wear all my faves, including this new houndstooth/tattersall blazer.

Here’s a primer on houndstooth vs. tattersall by the way. This blazer is technically tattersall. #themoreyouknow

I want to stroll arm-in-arm around the city, When Harry Met Sally style. And this is what I plan to wear!

What To Pair a Houndstooth Blazer With for Fall

You can wear a houndstooth blazer with so many things — classic blue jeans, frayed denim shorts, even black leggings or a slip dress, but here I thought it would be fun to wear with blush velvet jeans.

I balanced it out with a simple white button-down shirt, suede ankle boots, a leather belt, pink sunnies, and a leather and denim clutch.

What do you think?

Would you wear this look? Do you love classic fall looks too?

Fit Tips:

Blazer:

I’m wearing a size 4 in this blazer. I’d say it’s TTS or even runs a little small (in many brands I wear a 2 in blazers, so if anything size up one size or if you’re between sizes, go with the large size).

Pants:

I’m wearing a size 4 and would say these pants are TTS. I’d say the size 4s are equivalent to a 27/28 in jeans or a Small.

Note:  Just a heads up, I did a sponsored collaboration with J.McLaughlin on Instagram (see that — and this outfit in motion — here), and the clothes were gifted as part of that partnership. However, his blog post is not sponsored. As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks for stopping by and reading!
