To kick off spring, I collaborated with YMI Jeans and some of my fave LA fashion bloggers to style pieces from the YMI spring collection, including these green jeans. Each blogger represented a different LA neighborhood and style (can you guess what mine was?). Emerald is the Pantone color of the year for 2013 so I was excited to show how to style these green jeans. The LA neighborhood and style I was representing was “Beverly Hills Posh Girl.” While I love Beverly Hills now (and spent countless hours watching Beverly Hills 90210 in high school and college…and after college when I should have probably been working), it’s Beverly Hills in its heyday that I am so enamored with. So I channeled The Beverly Hills Hotel in the 1950s for my look.
No stranger to pairing emerald with flamingo hues, I added a pale pink-and-black polka dot top, a flamingo blazer and a pop of yellow on my feet. A black-and-white bangle, some glittering necklaces and a poppy flower brooch and I was ready for spring.
Colorful pants are a huge trend for spring and I know it can be intimidating to think How am I going to wear this? My answer: Add even more bright, happy colors — and a little pattern such as polka dots to the mix — for a cheery ensemble. (Of course, I’m clearly partial to color!)
