When it comes to books, my tastes are very…singular.
Kididng. But I do always gravitate towards the same things: beautiful coffee table books, celebrity autobiographies/memoirs, and blogger books. With a few entrepreneur/biz books and the occasional health book thrown in. And anything Slim Aarons and Audrey Hepburn.
Coffee table books and blogger books I always get in hard cover because you’re meant to enjoy the beauty of them and actually hold the offline, tangible version in your hands; celebrity autobiographies, business and health books I always download on Kindle, as it makes them easy to read on the airplane or in bed (although, truth be told, I usually just use the Kindle App for iPhone and read it on my phone when I manage to tear myself away from Instagram).
Read anything good lately? Do you Kindle or buy hard copies?
What I’m Reading
Here are my 5 favorite recent reads:
The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief and Manipulation by Melissa Rivers — I love Joan Rivers and still can’t believe she’s gone. In this book, her daughter Melissa shares priceless personal stories about her famous comedian mother that will have you grinning and gasping. (I hear the audio version is great too.)
Going Off Script: How I Survived a Crazy Childhood, Cancer, and Clooney’s 32 On-Screen Rejections by Giuliana Rancic — A shockingly revealing and laugh-out-loud funny memoir by my favorite red carpet reporter about her bad-girl past (stolen cars, anyone?) and how she wiled her way to the top.
Audrey at Home: Memories of My Mother’s Kitchen by Luca Dotti — I’ve just cracked my copy open, but can’t wait for an intimate peek inside the life of Audrey at home, complete with recipes, personal stories and photos, from her son Luca Dotti.
Oh Joy!: 60 Ways To Create and Give Joy by Joy Cho — Designer and Oh Joy! blogger Joy Cho is not only a friend, but an inspiration. Her new book is gorgeous and accessible, full of clever but easy DIYs this lazy girl might actually try.
Elements of Style: Designing a Home & a Life — So here’s the thing with blogger books. It’s really hard to deliver fresh content that hasn’t been seen on the blog before. And it’s hard to deliver both stunning photos and great writing. Elements of Style blogger Erin Gates knocks it out of the park on all fronts with an unexpected mix of candor and killer style. Think memoir meets interiors with no holds barred.

Adore coffee table books, but I just read ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette?’ while I’m vacationing at home in CA and I finished it in a day! Was such a well-written, entertaining read. 😀 I’d highly recommend.
