The premiere issue of Matchbook Magazine just came out! Have you had a chance to see it? I’d love to hear your thoughts. This “field guide to a charmed life” is truly delightful and really fills the void where Blueprint left off, sort of a modern lifestyle guide for classic girls. It’s chock-full of quirky information and interviews, including a chat with WHIT designer Whitney Pozgay (my girl crush is now officially full fledged, thump thump). And, not only is Whitney Kate and Andy Spade’s niece (who I shamelessly couple stalk), she also graduated from my alma mater, the University of Texas in Austin! There’s also a lovely interview with Rita Konig, who I adore.
But my absolute favorite idea from Matchbook comes from an article written by Scott Wade about the lost art of letter writing, featuring Mr. Boddington’s stationery designer Rebecca Schmidt-Rubensaal.
“Mr. Boddington’s stationery harkens back to the age when all correspondence was delivered by horse, and Rebecca hopes the age of battlefield romantics is not truly dead. ‘I keep hoping that it sparks a trend with hipsters, and you go on a date and instead of texting thanks, you write her a letter’ she says.”
Isn’t that just the loveliest idea? You can peruse the entire issue (for free) right here.
p.s. I couldn’t get it to view on my iPad. How about you?
