One of the fun random stops on our Labor Day road trip was to Flintstones Bedrock City in Williams, Arizona. So, here are some pics from our colorful visit + my pineapple dress!

Pineapple Dress at Flintstones Bedrock City

One of the best parts of a road trip is the quirky things you find along the way.

Also, after virtually meeting Amy from A Fashion Nerd — we both did a photo shoot for Trina Turk’s holiday campaign…pics coming soon! So, I saw her post about Flintstones Bedrock City.

I was excited when I saw that it was located in Williams, Arizona (not far from The Grand Canyon) on our route to Denver.

While it’s definitely in need of a little TLC, it was such a cute, quirky stop.

Odee and I had fun running up and down the stairs of the Brontosaurus, but declined the go down the slide.

Which was probably a good choice, as we saw a guy go flying down in and then proceed to fall off and tumble over four times, kicking up a whirl of desert sand in his wake.

To be fair, they had warned us ahead of time that the slide was REALLY fast and to be careful, so to proceed at your own risk.

We opted to put the pedal to the metal in our Flintstones car instead. 😉

It was fun seeing the colorful Bedrock City.

Flintstones Bedrock City

Built in 1972, the lumpy replica of the 1960s cartoon is like midcentury meets prehistoric. Does that qualify as Googie? Not quite, but it’s not far off.

What’s the most random spot you’ve ever come across on a road trip?

Any world’s largest ball of yarn sightings?

As for what I wore, I couldn’t resist frolicking around in this Trina Turk pineapple-print dress.

It seemed to fit the vibe, as did my pineapple hat.

As always, thanks for reading + coming along on this colorful adventure!

If you go to Flintstones Bedrock City, I hope you’ll have a yabba dabba doo time, a dabba do time, I hope you’ll have a gay old time!

 I know we did. 🙂
