It took me awhile to warm up to the color of the season: maroon/oxblood/burgundy/wine. Whatever you call it, I wasn’t sure how to incorporate it into my wardrobe, which normally consists of poppy brights or black and white.
And then out of the blue it hit me…
Add my new fave hue: blue! I’ve been on a serious blue kick lately, and it turns out, burgundy and blue are like wine and cheese, a combo worth indulging in. Frequently. (In fact, I’m in Singapore right now doing just that, with an in-suite wine-and-cheese picnic!).
We shot these photos on the day of our flight, when Palm Springs temps dipped below 80 (brrr) and I felt the need to get cozy with my new fall clothing: an oxblood coat by Indigenous (I don’t really have much experience with organic clothing or fair trade fashion — other than my newfound love of Raven + Lily — but this jacket is so comfy, I’m a convert), a FRAAS fairlisle infinity scarf (soft and lightweight – great for travel), and 7 For All Mankind waxed denim (my new faves).
I’m glad I got to indulge in fall fashion a tiny bit, as it’s steamy in Singapore and afterwards, we’re heading south of the equator to Australia, where it will be summer (hooray for endless summer!). When we get back, it will be winter (nearly Christmas) and autumn will be but a brief memory.
