Yesterday, I popped over to Trina Turk’s Echo Park home, a hidden gem designed by famed architect John Lautner in the 1940s, for a fun afternoon of floral arranging. Here are a few peeks, plus what I wore and tips on how to style a sequin dress for day!

A Turktanical Afternoon

I’m not sure which I’m more obsessed with: Trina Turk’s colorful new collection of rainbow dresses, bold prints and colorblock sequins…or her amazing architectural home.

Let’s go with both!

How to Style a Sequin Dress for Day

I wore this sequin kaleidoscope dress (available in sizes 2-14 here), but wanted to make it feel a bit more daytime since we’d be outside arranging flowers with Whit Hazen and drinking botanical cocktails from Jardeseca.

So, I added a white button-down shirt/popover shirt underneath, slipped on a low block heel, tossed on my favorite boater hat (with sequin script!) and finished the look off with a Pamela Munson straw basket bag.

What Do You Think?

I’m not sure if it was intentional, but I’m feeling Blair Eadie vibes, which is a huge compliment to myself. Haha.

Would you wear a sequin dress for day?

How to Style a Sequin Dress for Night

For evening, I’d simply add these heels and some fun earrings and call it a day…er, night.

Thank you Trina for the loveliest afternoon!
