As you know, I love Modernism Week. It’s like Fashion Week for the design set. I half-joke that I Fashion Week in September and I Modernism Week in February. Let’s face it, the weather in Palm Springs in February – 75 and sunny – beats New York in February – 18 and snowy – and yes, I did get married OUTSIDE in New York in February (ON a block of ice!), so I can say that with total confidence. #noregrets #coldfeet #literally
I’ll be joining an elite group of influencers and press as part of this year’s Mod Squad again, where I’ll be sharing highlights on Instagram (follow me here!). And this year, Fred Baby and I will be involved in another fun way: We’ll be exhibiting Fred Baby’s photography at The Eichler House!
When Fred Baby and I lived in San Francisco, we would always go to Eichler open houses, so this feels like a full-circle moment and it’s a BIG deal that the first Eichler home is being built in Palm Springs. We always dreamed of buying one, but with older homes come problems, so it’s incredible that you can get the original floor plans but built with all the modern updated conveniences.
And we want to GIVE YOU TWO TICKETS to it all, a $230 value!
It gets even better! Hanging on the walls of the Eichler House? Fred Baby’s photos from our shoot for Desert Magazine! Yes, the Slim Aarons-inspired ones you see here. We were so honored to be asked to exhibit them and I hope you’ll come meet us and see the photos in person!
Creating these lifestyle photos was our favorite project to date and a real dream come true, so it’s exciting to showcase them before thousands of architecture and design lovers who come from around the world for Modernism Week in Palm Springs.
And since we want to spread the love, we’re GIFTING a lucky winner an 11×14 print of Poolside Golightly (the photo at the top there)!
