I can’t believe that…Memorial Day is already here! How did that happen? I want to give thanks to all who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice. Without that, there would be no fun backyard BBQs or talk of summer travel plans, so thank you.
As I’ve started to feel better and better (bacon, people, bacon is the answer!), I get more and more excited about planning trips. So we’ve been discussing summer travel plans lately. You too? Where would you like to go?
Topping my wishlist: Nantucket and Cuba. I know, you don’t normally hear those in the same sentence. But I’d love to get to Cuba before too much changes. The colors, the vintage cars, the architecture. And after seeing pictures of the Daffodil Festival in Nantucket, I must see what this charming place in person!
It also looks like a trip to Europe is definitely happening again — with stops in London and Paris for work — so we’re thinking maybe the South of France for a vacation…
We loved Provence last year (those lavender fields + sunflower fields!), so something along those lines would be great. Fred Baby said he basically wants to be in a town like in the Hundred Foot Journey. Ha! According to Wikipedia, that town is Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (that’s a mouthful). Perhaps we can convince Ina and Jeffrey to join us? 😉
If you have any recommendations, I’d love to know. Garance has me curious about Corsica. Wherever and whatever it is, we want to keep it mellow. Add in some trips to visit family, and I feel like summer is already full. Crazy!
Wishing you a lovely, long weekend. Where will you be spending it? We’ll be out in Palm Springs, catching up with friends, doing a little vintage shopping and, in all likelihood, swanning.
Have a great one!
If you’re in a shopping mood here are a few sales:
J.Crew is 30% off with code WEEKEND! This plaid shirt reminds of what Audrey wore in Sabrina. I’m also obsessed with all things gingham. These cropped jeans are chic + you’d live in these all summer long. Also, wouldn’t this be great for Nantucket? And because I need more bangles + sandals… Oh, and a crisp white shirt will be a staple year-round.
