BCBG Brunch at the Azria House

It’s not everyday you get invited to an intimate brunch and fashion show at the house of BCBG’s Lubov and Max Azria. But when you do, the first question is: What should I wear?! Below, what I wore and behind-the-scenes pics…

Truth be told, I was a bit rushed for time in putting an ensemble together. Just the night before I was on full-on cookie party hostess mode (as one is), and immediately after brunch, we were driving up to San Francisco for my friend Helen’s baby shower.

So I reached for my go-to LBD (little blue dress), which you’ve seen me wear previously — styled slightly differently — to both a spring wedding and to Lionel Richie’s house (yes, I just wrote that).

Note: It turns out the Richies and the Azrias are practically neighbors (in case you’re keeping up on such things).

As recently confessed, I’ve been going through a bit of a blue period, so accessorized with minty blue heels and nails.

It was a cool morning in LA, so a blazer helped keep me warm and feeling pulled together, even if I had a serious sugar hangover and chipped nails (que sera!). Here I am in one of the many jaw-dropping gardens at the Azria estate (yowza).

From my perch, I watched as beautiful models showed off the spring 2013 collection (which I was so lucky to already have seen from the front row at New York Fashion Week).

This time, however, Lubov Azria herself narrated and gave us insight into her inspiration for the collection, which featured lots of leather and lace — and harnesses.

Spring is looking mighty sexy!

It’s uncanny, but that’s exactly how I look in my one-piece!

We also were treated to viewing the Herve Leger spring spring 2013 collection as well as stunning one-of-a-kind red carpet dresses (as seen above, as Lubov explains her inspirations and Max looks on).

Max and Lubov are really candid and fun-loving, which translates into their designs (they even revealed the story of how they met, which was quite a treat!).

The thing I love most about BCBG is that no matter the occasion, you can always find the perfect dress. Their designs are both cohesive yet versatile enough to suit many different tastes, body types and occasions (not an easy feat).

Note: That’s Max and Lubov’s daughter above with their furry family member, whose ears perked up when he heard “catwalk.”

It was a lovely brunch in the company of not only great designers, but some of my best fashion friends (Devon Rachel, Damsel in Dior, Laurie B Style, Sydne Style, Good Bad and Fab, Walk in Wonderland, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Glitter n Glue, Mr. Cuit, among others — so camera-shy they are!) and I’m still pinching myself that I was there, too. Thank you to Max and Lubov Azria and the BCBG team for such a dreamy day.
